Masters Texas Scramble brings 2015 to a close

Large turnout for Texas Scramble

A hardy bunch of members and guests turned-out on Monday in dreich weather conditions for the last event of 2015. A total of eight teams competed for the prestigious title over the Buddon Course. The golf was followed by the traditional lunch of peh, beans and chips at the Club and a games afternoon of darts, dominoes and pool.

Secretary Coutie, Stan Shepherd, Davie Rutherford and guest Tom Gilbrook took 3rd place in the Scramble. Runners-up were Martin Connor along with guests Bob Gillespie and John Millar. Popular winners by 0.7 of a point were the team of Captain Neil Holland, Des Muir, Rodney Soutar and guest professional Lindsay Mann.

After lunch, brief presentations were made to Club Champion, David Morton and Handicap Champion, Elaine Jewson who both unfortunately missed our recent annual dinner.

Despite a couple of initial hiccups with the draws, the games afternoon went swimmingly well with the Darts title going to Garry Clark and Dave Meek, the Pool title to Lindsay Mann and Pete Coutie and the Bones title to Pete Coutie (him again). The fact that Coutie was in charge of the games draws and administration had no bearing on the final results!
