Spring outing kicks-off new season
Twenty two hardy souls took to the Links last Sunday on a rather cold, bracing spring day for the first outing of the new playing season. The team match ended in a draw with acting captain Coutie’s team taking the honours by recording more holes-up on the day (mainly thanks to the Vice-captain Simpson / Clements pairing going down by 10 holes!). Winner of the stroke play singles and recipient of the prestigious ‘Yellow Jecket’ was seasoned campaigner Matt Edmond, who despite still recovering from recent knee replacement surgery, managed to cuff everyone else in the field. The Doherty family monopolised all the other prizes with George winning the longest drive and Audrey picking-up nearest the pin and the highest gross score awards.
